Makeup And Vanity Set (Matthew Pusti / Christian Williams / Joey Ciccoline) is an electronic music collective from Nashville, TN. They have been creating dark, expansive electronic music for the past two decades, releasing numerous albums, EPs and soundtracks. Their past work includes the horror trilogy Charles Park, the science fiction epic 88:88 and the dystopian double-album Wilderness. Their prolific output has included releases with Telefuture Records (US), YK Records (US) and Date Airlines (FR). Their music combines a slew of styles and influences, primarily born out of the Berlin school of electronic music, the Giallo film scores of the 1970’s and the darker corners of the 1980’s. Makeup And Vanity Set was an early influential part of the retro/synthwave movement that has come to prominence over the last five years. Their live performances are intensive collaborative audio/visual works.
Muletown MusicFest is excited that the new Columbia School of Performing Arts in downtown Columbia is showcasing Makeup And Vanity Set for Saturday evening, Oct 1st at 9:30PM.
